Be Ruthless

Extraordinary people living is incredibly simple. People generally perceive these individuals as "boring" and leading mundane lives. But is this really the case?
In reality, how many people waste time on unnecessary relationships and fleeting dopamine rushes? The pursuit of novelty is an inherent human "spell", leading us to willingly submit to illusions rather than be masters of our own thoughts.
We must learn to filter out inefficient emotions, people, and activities.
They are masters of filtering. They reject anything that doesn't benefit them: weekend party invitations, video games, prolonged screen time, negative emotions, and junk food.
Take NBA legend Kobe Bryant as an example. During his 20-year career, he aimed to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time, he rejected all invitations. While people party, he trains -- for over 12 hours a day. He is the epitome of self-discipline. No one, yes no one in the league will ever say they work harder than Kobe. The requirement of intense focus is what scares people away from greatness.
They key is to ruthlessly reject everything that doesn't benefit you.
Each of us has our own wand -- much like the wands in the Harry Potter movies -- that chooses its own master. If you want the wand to choose you, first make yourself worthy. Pick the wand, use it, and break the "spell".
